We loved every minute with Filipe, and discussing literature and history were an added bonus...He was a excellent guide and we enjoyed our conversions during the drive.

Driving Tours

Douro Valley

The best was to see the Douro Valley is by car, about an hour and a half from Porto this is the perfect day trip. Before we set out we help plan your ideal day, whether that's visiting vineyards, seeing the ancient cave drawings at Foz Coa, arranging for a boat ride in a classic watercraft or riding the old diesel train that still runs along the river from Regua. We help you plan everything in advance, down to the perfect restaurants and scenic stops. Filipe will pick you up at your hotel in Porto and drop you off at the end of the day!

Beaches and Wetlands

An hour south of Porto the salty breeze of the seaside wetlands hits you and you enter another world with a very different history than its big city cousin to the North. Even today it's possible to see fisherman using their painted gondolas in the bay and the old women dressed in black growing vegetables in the sandy soil along the wetlands. There's a wealth of unique wildlife and beautiful walking trails in the coastal national park. A picnic lunch on a quiet (often secluded) beach is included in the full day package.

The Great Northeast

This two day tour explores a truly undiscovered area of Portugal. You can't get more off the beaten track than Tras-os-Montes. Discovering this hidden corner of the country can feel like travelling back in time. Farmers still use animals to work the fields and the landscape appears untouched- as it must have for millenia. See the almond and chestnut orchards and rolling vistas and explore the charming university town of Brangança. This package includes a night's stay in... as well as two lunches on the road.
